This month's installment of the Doomsday Guide for the Female Body from Jen & Berries is inspired by what happens to our menstrual cycles during perimenopause. It starts off with a late period. Could it be stress? Could you be pregnant?! Nope, the fun is just beginning! Moving forward, your body will flip a coin to decide whether you'll get a period that month. The duration and time between them can become shorter (or longer), the flow can become lighter (or much heavier).
What about PMS, you ask? Surely the symptoms will be abate because hormone production is winding down, right? WRONG! Spikes and drops in estrogen and progesterone become erratic and for many, PMS gets worse. Even if you didn't experience this earlier, you may now find yourself blubbering because you felt nostaligic when hearing a Muppets song. You may have breast pain that makes you want to replace all of your cute push-ups with granny bras and you may want to tell an annoying client to "Go outside and play hide and go f*** yourself."
Don't worry, though - this will all be over in a quick 4-8 years.
"Guess who's back? Back again." has a crimson red base with a subtle red/gold shimmer and scattered holographic flakes.
